When it comes to summer, reading may not be the first thing - or even the top ten things - kids have in mind! But reading can be the ideal summer activity. It's fun, portable, can involve the whole family, and will help your child academically. Use our grade level Summer Reading Lists and these resources to launch a summer of Reading.

Begins on June 6th at the library.
June 15 Dru Woods - uses puppets and music to tell stories
June 22 Austin Reptiles - entertaining and information presentation with live reptiles
June 29 The Astonishing Mr. Pitts - magic tricks, hilarious puppet characters, cartooning, and audience interaction
July 13 Bernadette Nason - stresses the joy of reading by using multicultural tales and personal stories brought to life
July 20 Bonzo Crunch - emphasizes the importance of reading with magic, music and juggling
The Pioneer Memorial Library Summer Reading Program is free and open to the public.
Children of all ages and abilities are welcome.
All programs are at the Library located at 115 W Main Street in Fredericksburg.

H-E-Buddy 2022 Summer Reading Club
H‑E‑Buddy Summer Reading Club is a reading program that encourages and rewards summer reading.
Read ten books and record them on your reading log from the form linked below.
One of the books must be a Read 3 Book, go to website linked below.
Each time you log a book, have an adult initial by the title so you get credit for reading.
Once the log is complete, mail the form, and you'll be rewarded with a special prize.
You have until October 1 to get in ten good reads.

Sign up for Camp Wonderopolis® . The free online summer-learning program that has fun, interactive STEM and literacy-building topics for kids and their families.
Camp Book It
Camp Book It is a free summer reading and activity program to keep kids engaged in reading throughout the summer months. Kids participating in Camp BOOK IT! will be able to earn a free one-topping Personal Pan Pizza® for meeting their reading goals for June, July and August! Let's Read! For ages 4 - 12.
Scholastic Summer Reading Home Base
Join Scholastic Summer Reading Program where Scholastic offers an exciting, free and safe summer reading experience. They provide books to kids with limited or no access over the summer, with the goal of keeping every child reading.
